Industry Update Week(s) of April 10th & April 17th


Following a review, E*Trade has selected MullenLowe as its new creative agency of record. The financial services brand spent approximately $86 million on measured media last year.

Heineken USA has shifted U.S. creative duties on its Tecate import to Mexican-based agency Nomades, replacing Saatchi & Saatchi New York on the account.

Following a review, Party City has hired Hill Holliday as its lead creative agency, replacing incumbent Zimmerman on the business. Party City spent $38.3 million on measured media in the U.S. last year.

Tile, the company behind Bluetooth-enabled products that track lost items, has hired Deutsch Los Angeles as its first agency of record.

Carl’s Jr. has named Vice’s Carrot Creative as its new digital and social agency of record.

Following a review, Heineken USA has consolidated lead digital and social agency duties across its major brands with Red Urban. The agency, which currently operates from Amsterdam and Toronto, will open a New York office to service the account, which includes Heineken, Heineken Light, Dos Equis, Tecate and Strongbow.

Deutsch LA has hired Jorge Calleja as EVP/executive creative director, leading creative work on the Uber account. Calleja was most recently executive creative director at TBWA/Media Arts Lab.

BBDO Atlanta has hired Craig Miller as group creative director.

Goodby Silverstein & Partners San Francisco, has hired former Grey London creative team Theo Bayani and Miguel Gonzalez.

Armando Flores and Sara Worthington have joined Huge as a group creative director team.

Detroit-based The Mars Agency has hired Suzanna Bierwirth as chief creative officer. Bierwirth was most recently SVP/ group creative director at FCB Chicago.

Marc Calamia has joined BBDO Atlanta as a head of integrated production. Calamia joins from R/GA New York where he served as executive director of production and head of R/GA’s Content Studio.

Craig Jelniker has joined Cole & Weber as director of integrated production. Jelniker was most recently managing partner and executive producer at Middle Mile Productions.

Katie Knab Olsen has joined Chandelier Creative as executive producer. Olsen joins from Arnold’s Audrey agency.


Alan Yang, co-creator of ‘Master of None’, has joined the roster at Caviar.

Greenpoint Pictures has signed director Micah Perta.

Big Block has added director Neil Abramson to its roster.

Identity has signed director Sergio Bosatra for U.S. representation

Lindsay Daniels has joined the roster at Bodega.

Supply & Demand has added director Tyler Manson to its roster.

1stAveMachine has signed design/directing duo Mathery (Erika Zorzi and Matteo Sangalli).

RSA Films has launched RSA VR to be headed up by executive producer Jen Dennis.

Ed Koenig has returned to MPC as executive producer of remote VFX and color grading.

MPC LA has hired Brandon Thomas as CG Supervisor, and promoted Kristopher Smale to colorist.

Santa Monica-based Jamm has added flame artist Brian Hajek to its roster.

Editor Christopher Huth has joined the roster at Union Editorial.

Zoic Studios has promoted VFX Supervisor Jeffrey Baksinski to creative director.


John Noble and Brad Powell have launched Fixer Partners, an outsourced agency production department, geared to manage agencies and brands through the creative commercial process.

The Martin Agency is closing its New York office.

Tokyo-based cosmetics company Shiseido has bought New York-based agency Jwalk.

The Barbarian Group has hired Cathy Butler as CEO.

22squared has hired Annette Sally as the agency’s first EVP/executive director of account management.
