Industry Update Week(s) of May 15th & 22nd


After working together for five years, Goodby Silverstein & Partners and Cisco have parted ways as Ogilvy rejoins the tech company’s agency roster. The appointment appears to be project based at the moment. Ogilvy’s Los Angeles office worked with the company for more than a decade before GS&P was named agency of record in 2012. Cisco spent approximately $42 million on U.S. measured media last year.

Following a review, Clorox has expanded its relationship with FCB by handing its recently acquired brand Renew Life to the agency’s Chicago office.

Following a review, ZTE, the Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer has hired Energy BBDO as its creative agency in the U.S.

Agency Creative/ Producers

A year and a half after returning to TBWA Worldwide as global creative president and chief creative officer of the agency’s New York office, Chris Garbutt has been named chief creative officer of the Omnicom agency network.

FCB Chicago has named Ecole Weinstein as EVP/executive creative director. Weinstein was most recently group creative director at Havas Chicago.

Minneapolis agency Solve has hired Sean Smith as executive creative director and partner.


Society has signed director David Holm to its roster.

Director Yoni Lappin has joined the rosters at RSA and Black Dog for commercials and music videos.

Humble has signed director Dean G. Moore for U.S. representation.

Contagious LA has signed director Erik Anderson.

Los Angeles-based animation studio, ROYGBIV has joined Passion Animation Studios.

RSA Films has appointed Chris Clavadetscher as executive producer of Black Dog Films U.S.

Logan has appointed Paul Abatemarco as executive producer in Los Angeles. Most recently, Abatemarco was managing director at Los York.


Framestore has appointed Gabriel Portnof as CG supervisor in New York.


Danielle Aldrich has been named president of CP+B West, which includes CP+B Boulder and CP+B LA.

CP+B Global CEO Lori Senecal will exit her role at the end of this year.

McKinney has named Joe Maglio its first New York-based chief executive officer. Maglio joins from Havas New York, where he most recently served as managing director.
