Following a review, mattress brand Serta has selected Leo Burnett as its lead creative agency. Incumbent agency Doner, which Serta named AOR in 1999, did not participate in the review. Serta spent over $35 million on measured media in the U.S. during the first quarter of 2017.

Following a review, Dick’s Sporting Goods has selected VML as its agency of record for new athletic apparel brand Second Skin.

Agency Creative/ Producers

The Martin Agency has hired Karen Costello as executive creative director on all Mondelez business. Costello joins from Deutsch Los Angeles.

Deutsch has hired Doris Chung as SVP/creative director. Chung joins from DigitasLBi.

Allison Hayes has joined Carmichael Lynch as creative director. Hayes was most recently creative director at Venables Bell & Partners.

John Fulbrook has joined Translation LLC as group creative director, design. Fulbrook was most recently SVP/group creative director at The Martin Agency.

Firstborn has hired Jeremy Elliot as associate creative director. Elliot joins from The Barbarian Group.

M&C Saatchi L.A. has promoted Ron Tapia to creative director.

Minneapolis-based Periscope has hired Bill Berg, who joins from Droga5 New York, as executive producer; and Steve Sutherland as VP/director of integrated creative production.

Amanda Van Caneghem has joined Fred & Farid as executive producer in the New York office. Van Caneghem was most recently at DDB/NY.

Directors/Production

Swedish director Philippe Tempelman has joined the roster at Epoch Films for representation in the U.S.

DECON has signed director Van Black.

Directors David Serota and Henrik Hedin have joined Yard Dog for representation in the U.S.

Cadence Films has signed directors Francesco Calabrese and Clemens Purner.

B-Reel Films has added Henry Mason to its roster in the U.S.

Pulse Films has signed directors LuckyMe (Peter Marsden and Dominic Flannigan) for representation in the U.S. and U.K.

Kaboom Productions has added Malek Haneen to its roster.

Director Nick Spooner has joined the roster at Brooklyn-based PRISM.

Ashley Hydrick and Beth Aranda-Hodzic have launched above and beyond films.

MPC and Mikros Advertising have joined forces. The new entity will operate as Mikros-MPC Advertising in Paris, and will be part of the global network of MPC Advertising studios.

Whitehouse Post has promoted Joanna Manning to executive producer.

KBS has hired Barbarian Group co-founder Keith Butters as global chief technology officer.

Misc.

Devika Bulchandani has been named president of McCann New York.

Paris-based agency BETC has opened an L.A. office.

McCann North America has hired Sean Lackey as chief growth officer, a newly-created position at the agency. Lackey was most recently head of business development at Droga5.
