Industry Update Week(s) of April 22nd & 29th


Following a review, home security company ADT has named McCann as its lead strategic and creative agency. Last year, ADT spent roughly $80 million on measured media in the U.S.

CarMax has selected The Martin Agency as its creative agency of record. Incumbent McKinney did not defend in the review process. CarMax spent nearly $96 million on U.S. measured media in 2018.

Sonic and Goodby Silverstein & Partners are parting ways after eight years. GS&P won’t be participating in the fast food chain’s review for its creative account.

Oscar Health has awarded creative duties to Chandelier Creative.

Following a review, Ohio-based healthcare system Premier Health has named Doner its agency of record.

Agency Creative/ Producers

Jon Flannery has been hired as EVP/executive creative director at DDB Chicago. Flannery joins from FCB Chicago.

Allison Baker has joined Laundry Service as creative director. Baker was most recently a creative director at BBDO NY.

Piper Hickman and WeiWei Dong have been promoted to executive creative directors at 360i.

Firstborn has hired Laurie Hollar as creative director. Hollar was most recently a creative director at VML.


Caviar has acquired Funny Or Die’s commercial production company Gifted Youth. Caviar will maintain the Gifted Youth shingle name with a roster of directors, including Adam McKay, Jake Szymanski, Alice Mathias, and Paymen Benz. Gifted Youth’s Josh Morse (a former head of production at Barton F. Graf) will continue to serve as executive producer, working alongside the Caviar team.

Saville Productions has signed director Julien Zenier.

Greenpoint Pictures has added Lauren Sick to its roster.

Away Lands, the directing team of Amy Seder and Brandon Burkley, has joined the roster at Derby.

Eskimo has signed director Nico Kreis.

Tinygiant has added Raphaël Ouellet and Andrew Schneider to its roster.

Director Konrad Begg has joined Slash Dynamic.

ELEMENT has signed director Tom Foley.

Golden LA has signed director Mustafa Mazouzi.

Rebecca Niles has joined Derby as executive producer.

Executive producers Laura Macauley and Rob Sexton have joined Tool of North America.


MPC has hired veteran finishing artist Tom McCullough to work in its New York office.


Technicolor has appointed David Patton as global president, customer experience and advertising. Patton joins Technicolor after two years at Young & Rubicam, where he was global president.

Joan has hired Magnus Blair as chief strategy officer. Blair joins from Hewlett Packard Enterprise where he was global head of brand and campaign planning.
