Industry Update Week(s) of July 1st & 8th


The Gap has named Johannes Leonardo its lead creative agency.

After 46 years with BBDO and following a closed Omnicom review, Pepsi has chosen TBWA\Chiat\Day New York as lead creative agency for the Mountain Dew brand. PepsiCo spent $119.5 million on measured media for the Mountain Dew family of brands in 2018.

Following a review, Sports drink Bodyarmor has appointed Laundry Service as its creative agency of record.

Travelocity has appointed Austim-based Proof as the travel brand’s new creative agency of record, replacing incumbent Campbell Ewald.

Spirits and wine company Brown-Forman, whose brands include Jack Daniel’s, Woodford Reserve, Canadian Mist, Korbel, Finlandia, El Jimador and Chambord, has launched a review of its global creative agency of record relationships.

Agency Creative/ Producers

Ignacio Ferioli and Joaquín Cubria have joined Gut as partners and chief creative officers. They will oversee creative output of the agency across its offices in Miami, Buenos Aires and São Paulo. Ferioli and Cubria join from DAVID Buenos Aires where they were executive creative directors.

Toygar Bazarkaya is leaving his role as chief creative officer at We Are Unlimited to join Optimist as the agency’s first global CCO. Derek Green and John Hansa will assume creative leadership of We Are Unlimited as co-executive creative directors, reporting directly to DDB North America CCO Ari Weiss.

BarrettSF has promoted Phil Fattore and Byron Wages to associate creative directors.

R/GA has promoted Julie Benevides to executive content producer in the agency’s Chicago office.

The Dalton Agency has appointed Kristie Cannon as creative director in the agency’s Atlanta office.

Minneapolis agency Ciceron has hired Anton Friant as VP/creative director. Friant joins from Periscope, where he was digital creative director.


Rattling Stick has signed director Pablo Maestres for his first commercial representation in the U.S. market.

Olivia Wilde has joined the roster at Anonymous Content.

M ss ng p eces has signed director Jason Jeffrey to its live action roster and Mia Lidofsky for special projects.

Jordan Bahat has joined the roster at Tool of North America.

Washington Square Films has added Andrew Lane to its roster for U.S. commercial representation.

Director and photographer Marie Schuller has joined the roster at RSA Films and Black Dog Films in the U.S. and U.K.


Editor Biff Butler has joined the roster at Work Editorial for representation in the U.S. and U.K.

PS 260 has hired editor Nate Cali in its L.A. office.

Colorist Gregory Reese has joined the roster at a52 Color.

Whitehouse Post editor Liz Deegan is relocating from New York to the company’s London office.
